The Executive Committee

The executive committee are a team of volunteers elected by Xpress Radio as a society and the Cardiff University student body as a whole, in the case of the Xpress Radio Station Manager, to run Xpress Radio on a day-to-day basis.

The Station Manager oversees the running of Xpress Radio. He or she provides direction for the station and co-ordinates the activities of its executive committee.

He or she also regularly reviews all broadcasting opportunities and technological advances in order to take advantage of any that may benefit the operation of Xpress Radio.

Head of Mainstream Programming

The Head of Mainstream Programming is in charge of scheduling programming between 9am and 6pm from Monday to Friday and from 10am to 2pm on weekends. 

The Head of Mainstream Programming also leads a team of mainstream presenters.

Head of Specialist Programming

The Head of Specialist Programming is in charge of scheduling music-led programming between 6pm and 2am Monday to Friday and from 2pm to 2am on weekends.

The Head of Specialist Programming also leads a team of specialist DJs.

Head of Speech Programming

The Head of Specialist Programming is in charge of scheduling speech-based programming throughout the Xpress Radio schedule.

The Head of Specialist Programming also leads a team of speech show presenters and producers.

Head of News

The Head of News is in charge of ensuring that Xpress has regular news output during mainstream programming hours and of producing a fortnightly news show.

Head of Producers

The Head of Producers is in charge of ensuring that the programming quality is as high as can possibly be.

They also assign producers to mainstream shows and ensure that training is available for any producer from mainstream or specialist programming that requests it.

Head of Music

The Head of Music is in charge of creating Xpress Radio’s playlist of music to be broadcast during mainstream programming hours.

They are also in charge of arranging interviews and sessions with musicians and of the weekly music team show, The Xhibition.

Head of Sport

The Head of Sport is in charge of all sport programming on Xpress Radio.

They also lead a team of sport journalists.

Head of Audio Production

The Head of Audio Production is in charge of creating the sound of the station by making jingles and background music.

They also lead a team of audio producers.
