The Jazz Society Radio Show

Rhys also presents Beat It! and covers mainstream shows on Xpress Radio. He also occasionally sits in on the Root Blue programme, co-hosted the coverage of the Go Global International Music Night on 1st March 2008 and presented daily podcasts over Easter from Nantes in France when he went on tour there with the City of Cardiff Concert Band.

Shortlisted for “Best Specialist Show” at the Cardiff Student Media Awards 2007, The Jazz Society Radio Show is brought to you by the Cardiff Student Jazz Society. Rhys Phillips brings you 2 hours of great jazz, funk & latin music, features and chat every Saturday afternoon. The album charts and gig listings are provided by the likes of Hannah Bostock, Andy Farquharson, Alex Burton-Johnson & Polly Jones who also help Rhys review any news in the jazz world while order is kept by producer Jonny Tyers. Occasionally we present special shows, bringing you coverage of local jazz events.
