Producers

Boom-shakalack. Word to yo’ aspiring producers. I welcome you to the crazy-shit-ass-hot world of mofo producing.
Now that you are extremely patronised, amused or bored (in which case why are you still reading?) I shall begin.
As a producer you are the bollocks. You are the boss. You are Chief in Charge of Show of the Xpress Tribe. Remember that and you can‘t go wrong.
Essentially the show you produce is yours, you are responsible. You are also responsible for those very clumsy presenters who love to drop Baby ‘Your Show’ on its head, resulting in the kid going mental. You must therefore be in charge of so-called presenters.
I will now stop trying so hard to amuse you and win myself some friends, and actually get on with what you need to know. Riddles never got anyone anywhere.
Producing involves you essentially ensuring that the output of your show is as high quality as it possibly can be. This not only means the technical aspects like checking levels, jingles, dealing with phone calls, texts and emails, and keeping your unruly presenters in their place ( e.g. libel, swearing etc.) but it also allows you to have a creative input. This would include research, planning and/or co-presenting.
Producing allows you to be generally involved in nearly everything that being an Xpress member can be involved in, which is great as it means you can feel a real part of the station. Many presenters like to have their producer come in on their show meaning that if you are perhaps not at the stage where you want to have your own show, you can still get a taste for what it is like.
It may seem a bit daunting but being a producer is actually fairly easy, and allows you to get however much or little as you want, as well as giving you a feel for each of the other departments so you become an important cog in the Xpress machine!
Lots of love
José
